Analysis of Usefulness and Credibility of Radio as Perceived by Literate Farmers

Abstract


The study was conducted in transitional belt of Dharwad and Belgaum taluka with the objective of level of exposure to radio among farmers, level of usefulness of radio content among farmers and level of credibility of radio among farmers.  The data was collected from 200 literate farmers.  The results shows that 72 per cent of farmers had medium level of exposure to radio, medium category of farmers has a maximum of 70.5% perception level towards usefulness of radio content compare to high and low category of farmers and maximum of 75% of medium level of farmers have perceived high perception level of credibility on radio compare to high and low category of farmers.  It is observed that farmers participation in extension and social participation and more exposure on radio resulted 5% level of significant correlation, like wise in case of path analysis  also it was noticed that social participation have exerted higher positive direct effect on exposure on radio among farmers.
