Knowledge of Farm Families About the Natural Resource Management

Abstract


The study conducted in Bijapur district considering two watershed development projects with sample respondents of 240 to know the knowledge of fann families about natural resource management revealed that, the overall knowledge index of the Self help group (SHG) members was relatively high than non SHG members in case of women(69.3 % and 66.6%), landless (66.2 % and 66.7%) and big fanners (72.2% and 68.5 %) respectively. The mean knowledge index was high in small village (70.76%and 74.51 %) followe by big and medium size village. No significant difference in the knowledge index of fanners in different size villages was observed. The knowledge index of KWDP project families was relatively higher than KA WAD project families.
