Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad during kharif 2006-07 to study the integrated nutrient management on sunflower hybrid seed production (KBSH-1). Application of FYM 8 t per ha along with RDF (62.5:75:62.5 kg NPK/ha) recorded higher plant height (32.57. 142.33 and 150.97 cm in CMS-234A and 36.23, 145.67 and 152.60 cm in 6D-1) at 30, 60 and 90 DAS, respectively over control. Similar trend was also noticed in number of leaves where higher number of leaves were noticed with the application of FYM 8 t per ha and recommended dose of fertilizers. The application of FYM 8 t per ha along with RDF recorded higher capitulum diameter (20.67 cm), yield per plant (18.52 g), per cent seed filling (76.33%), processed seed yield (965 kg/ha) and seed recovery percentage (92.47%) over control. The seed quality parameters were also recorded significantly higher seedling length (26.67 cm), vigour index (2230), seedling dry weight (375 mg) and germination  (90.00%) over control.
