Abstract

An experiment was carried out to know the effect of acid delinting and imidachloprid seed treatment on storability of hybrid cotton seeds. The results revealed that, delinted seeds exhibited better storability than the linted seeds upto nine months of storage. They recorded higher germination (68.3%) compared to linted seeds (66.1%) at the end of storage period. The seed treated with this chemical recorded higher seed germination (69.3%) and vigour index (1833) at the end of nine months of storage compared to untreated seeds (65.0% and 1626, respectively). Polythene bag recorded higher germination (69.8%) and vigour index (1823) compared to cloth bag (64.6% and 1644, respectively) at the end of nine months of storage.
