Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Mugad, Karnataka during 2005 and 2006 to find out the effect of integrated nutrient and pest management on seed yield and quality of scented rice. Three nutrient management practices as main plots and three pest management modules as sub plots were tested in split plot design. Application of 50 % N through FYM and 50 % through inorganics along with recommended P205 and K2O (50 kg/ha each) produced significantly higher seed yield (3775 kg/ha) and quality over organics (3356 kg/ha) and farmers’ practice (3422 kg/ha). Integrated pest management module significantly increased seed yield (3535 kg/ha) and quality over farmers’ practice (3520 kg/ha) and organic pest management (3498 kg/ha). Interaction effects were significant with integrated nutrient and integrated pest management module which recorded significantly higher seed yield (3806 kg/ha) and quality parameters over other treatment combinations.
