C.T. Subbarayappa, U.D. Bongale, N. Srinivasa

Abstract

Pot culture experiments were conducted by using bulk soil samples collected from mulberry gardens and were categorized as low, medium and high with respect to native soil fertility status of phosphorus and zinc.  Five treatments with three replicated pots in each type of soil were imposed with common recommended levels of FYM, N, K and varied levels of P for P treatment experiment and normal levels of FYM, N,P,K and varied levels of Zn for Zn treatment experiment in the respective sets of pots under each of the low, medium and high fertility soils. The critical levels of 18 kg /ha of P and 1.78  ppm  of Zn were recorded in soils and 0.178 per cent of P and 27.1 ppm of Zn were recorded in mulberry leaf.
