Growth rate analysis of soybean pod, pod-shell and seed weight per pod was carried out in three different seasons using 10 soybean varieties differing for pod shattering nature. The growth rate of  pod and seed weight between 30-40 day after anthesis had negative correlation with pod  shattering, however the relative growth rate of pod shell between 40 days after anthesis and physiological maturity was positively correlated.
