Abstract

Experiment conducted to evaluate the influence of different feeding additives revealed that better multiplication of worms and eventual recycling of wastes into vermicompost was observed in groudnut shell plus feeding additives than rice husk with additives combination.  Rice bran and wheat bran proved to be good additives alongwith palatable substrates like cowdung and paddy straw, which supported better growth of earthworms and production of vermicompost.  Mango leaf powder and gram husk were moderate in their effectiveness.  Fermentation yeast sludge proved to be least preferred additive for earthworms.
