Abstract

Field experiments were conducted for two years at Agricultural Research Station, Bailhongal (Karnataka) in kharif, rabi and summer seasons to find out the optimum spacing and seed rate to obtain seed sunhemp. Significant higher seed yield of sunhemp was obtained with 45 cm spacing (10.94 q/ha) than either with 30 cm (9.15q/ha) or 60 cm (10.71q/ha) spacing. Seeding @ 20 kg/ha yielded significantly on par with 30 kg/ha (11.02 q/ha) or 40 kg/ha (10.76 q/ha) in kharif. For rabi season 45 cm spacing (13.44 q/ha) and 20 kg/ha (14.26 q/ha) was ideal whereas in summer 20 kg/ha with any of the spacing was better.
