Impact of ICDS on Psychomotor and Mental Development of Rural Toddlers

Abstract
The present study aims at investigating the impact of ICDS on motor and mental development of toddlers by comparing those who were attending regularly and not attending anganwadi. A sample of 80 children each attending ICDS and 80 not attending ICDS or irregular were selected from four selected villages of Dharwad taluk. The two groups were matched on age, gender and SES. The selected children were administered Bayley scale of Infant Development to assess both motor and mental abilities. Results revealed that ICDS programme had significant impact on motor and mental development of toddlers.
