Abstract

Field experiments were conducted during the summer seasons of 2002 and 2003  at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore to study the effect of composted poultry manure, sewage sludge and enriched urban garbage compost on groundnut production. Recommended practice (25:75:40 kg N, P2O5 and K2O + 10 t FYM ha-1) recorded higher pod yield, NPK uptake, agronomic efficiency and apparent nitrogen recovery. Among different organic manures composted poultry manure performed better and it was followed by sewage sludge and enriched urban garbage compost.
