Abstract

The average annual income and expenditure of the selected victims were Rs. 27924  and Rs. 37120, respectively. There exists an overall income gap of Rs.9196 among annual income and annual expenditure of the victims.  Thus, this study reveals the dreadful condition of the households that victims were in severe distress due to the income that they get from all sources is not even enough to meet the essential family expenditure. The regression analysis shows that the decreasing land holding, lowering the annual income, declining soil type and increased expenditure pattern and raising the disputes of victim with the family members are the important contributing factors with the victims for increasing the identified income gap with them.
