Genetic Variability Studies in Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)
D. Regassa, N. Basavaraj
Abstract
One hundred potato genotypes were evaluated for variability, heritability and genetic advance under rainfed condition. Analysis of variance indicated significant difference among the genotypes with respect to all the characters studied. Moderate to high phenotypic as well as genotypic coefficient of variation was registered for all the characters except for per cent emergence. Higher heritability coupled with higher genetic advance as per cent of the mean was noticed for most of the characters except for non-reducing sugar and per cent emergence at 30 days after planting.
