Abstract

The field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 1990 to study the influence of TIBA at 240 ppm, TIBA at 240 ppm + NAA at 50 ppm, hormonal at 2 concentrations i.e., 50 ml in 200 I of water and 100 ml/200 I of water (hormonal - a mixture of Auxin 1 ppm + GA3  5 ppm + Cytokinin 0.1 ppm) and Triaconntanol at 2 concentrations i.e., i) 100 ml in 200 I  of water and 200 ml in 2000 I of water on three genotypes namely morden, a cultivar;  HA 234-B, a maintainer line (for the female line((CMS-234 A) in hybrid seed production of BSH-1 and KBSH-1) and KBSH-1, a hybrid. The results indicated that spraying of TIBA along with NAA had highest head diameter (19.2 cm), number of filled seeds (10.6% increase over control), seed filling percentage (85.2%), seed yield (29.6 q/ha}, test weight (63.3 g), seed density (0.546 q/cl) and volume weight (4.9 g higher than control). Among genotypes KBSH-1 produced maximum yield and yield components. Yield parameters like test weight and seed density were differed significantly due to interaction of both growth regulators and genotypes.
