B.K. Desai, A.S. Prabhakar

Abstract

A field experiment was carried out under irrigated red sandy loam soils of RRS, Raichur (16 0151 N and 770,201E) to study the effect of addition of prunings with varying levels of RDF on the yield of maize and groundnut sequence grown in association with hedge rows of S. grandflora in alley farming system during kharif 1995 and rabi / summer 1995-96. Addition of prunings coupled with RDF recorded significantiy higher grain and pod yields in both maize and groundnut respectively. The percent increase over control (AP only) in maize and groundnut was to the tune of 116 per cent and 86 per cent, respectively.
