Effect of Growth Regulators and Nutrients Spray on Performance of Ratoon Crop of Hybrid Rice Under Different Irrigation Levels

K. Manjappa, A.S. Prabhakar

Abstract

An experiment was conducted during 1997-98 and 1998-99 at Agricultural Research Station (Paddy),Sirsi, Kamataka to Know the effect of growth regulators and nutrients spray on ratooning ability of hybrid rice under different irrigation levels. On an average over two years, irrigation at saturation point recorded higher grain yield (2767) followed by IHCS (2297), ICS(1602) and RM(1123) which were differing significantly from one another. Spraying of GA,3 to main crop resulted in significantly higher ratoon grain yield (2251 kg ha -1)over others. The grain yield recorded with kinetin (2088 kg ha-1)), benzytadenine (2063 kg ha-1) and urea spray(2058 kg ha-1)) was on par with each other. Spraying of KNO3 and ZnSO4 resulted in 15.6 and 10.5 per cent increase in grain yield over no spray, respectively. Net returns realized with ISP(Rs.14210 ha-1) was significantly higher over IHCS, ICS and RM. Among diffirent growth regulators and nutrients spray, net returns were significantly higher with GA3(Rs11190 ha-1) than others. The urea spray, (Rs.8948 ha-1) and kinetin (Rs. 10390 ha-1) recorded on par net returns. Significantly lowest net returns was recorded in control (Rs.7096 ha-1).
