Knowledge of Eco- Friendly Practices Among Watershed Farmers

Abstract


With growing concern over food security and sustainable agriculture all over the world, the need for eco-friendly practices far food production has become imperative. The study was conducted in Kalyanakere and Mava thurkere watershed area located jn Bangalore rural and Tumkur districts in Karnataka. Eco-friendly practicesare the main functionaries for the sustainable agriculture at the present Juncture.The knowledge level of 180 respondents, thus measured in the watershed farmers which indicated that majority of the farmers (71.11 %) were belonged to medium knowledge group. Among the different categories of farmers , viz., marginal, small and big farmers,it was found that an eq ual percentage of all the categories of respondents possessed the rnedium level of knowledge on eco-friendly practices and further found that there is no significant difference among the categories of farmers regarding their knowledge level.
