A.K. Guggari, S.B. Kalaghatagi

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during 1992,1995,1996,1998, and 1999 kharif seasons to study the long term effects of farm yard manure(FYM) and nitrogen applied alone and in combination at different levels on pearl millet productivity on medium black soil at Regional Research Station Bijapur (Karnataka), Application of FYM and nitrogen alone and in combination significantly Increased the grain and fodder yields of pearl millet. Increased N level registered higher grain yield as compared to FYM and absolute control.Among the treatments,FYM @ 5.0 +40kg N./ha was found significantly superior than all other treatments in grain and fodder yields except the trealment FYM @ 2.5+40 kg N/ha, which was at par.
