The field trial conducted over two years (1996 -1998) have revealed that all the recommended insecticides have still retained their effectiveness against the safflower aphid, Uroleucon ccmpcsitae Theobald. Among them, monocrotpphos and dimethoate were proved to be the best followed by oxydemetan methyl, methyl parathion and endosulfan. However, malathion dust was moderate in its effectiveness against the pest.
