Abstract

Anthurium seeds have vary low viability. Further the extant of germination under natural condition is also very low. The nutritional requirement for germination and subsequent growth is complex and highly Specific In nature. Hence, standardization of media for anthurium seed germination and subsequent growth was carried out using five different media, it was observed that Nitsch medium supported the earliest germination and increased growth. Subsequent growth was also early on Nitsch medium, indicating the suitability of Nitsch medium for seed germination and subsequent growth.
