Studies were conducted on to refine the various rearing techniques of Helicoverpa armgiera at the Agricultural Research Station, Gulbarga and Main Research Station, Dharwad. Among the various rearing media evaluated, rearing of neonate larvae on chickpea seedlings (CPS) up to four days in group, and rearing individually on artificial diet afforded highest survivability as compared to rearing on artificial diet alone. Rearing of insect with larger initial field culture made it possible toprogress for more number of generations with high seed to yield ratio.
