Abstract

In the wake of development of resistance to conventional insecticides by chickpea pod borer. Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner), field trials were carried out for three years to test the efficacy of some selected conventional insecticides at the Regional Research Station. Bijapur. The results revealed that two sprays/ dusts given (first at 50% flowering and second at 15 days later) with carbaryl 0.20%. quinalphos 0.05% and malathion 5% dust @ 25 kg/ha gave effective control of pod borer on chickpea and recorded higher seed yieid. Endosulfan 0.07% and methyl parathion 0.10% failed to give an appreciable control.
