Abstract

Field experiments were conducted during kharif season of 1998 and 1999 at Agricultural Research Station, Ragolu (North Coastal Agro climatic Zone of Andhra Pradesh) to study the effect of sowing time and nitrogen levels on the nutrient uptake by upland rice cultivars revealed distinct variations as regards nutrient uptake by varieties due to sowing time and nitrogen levels. The N, P and K uptake by rice crop was found to be the highest with Pushkala (V1) sown during second fortnight of June (D1) and supplied with 90 kg N ha-1 (N4). However, N4 (90 kg N ha-1) was on par with 60 kg N ha-1 (N3).
