Abstract

The popular silkworm hybrid. Pure Mysore x NB4D2 and its parents were reared over three seasons on tender and matured mulberry shoots. The performance was assessed by evaluating cocoon and allied traits. The fifth instar silkworm larvae fed with tender shoots upto three days followed by matured shoots registered higher cocoon weight (16.45 g/10 cocoons), shell weight (2.75 g/10 shells), cocoon yield by number (163.51/200 larvae) and weight (265.88 g/200 larvae) and productivity (3.86 cg/day).
