Adoption of Plant Protection Measures by Farmers in Respect of Paddy and Groundnut Crops

Abstract


The study was conducted in Central Dry Zone of Karnataka with sample size of 180 respondents to know the level of adoption of Plant Protection measures by the farmers in paddy and groundnut crops. The data revealed that there was significant variation in the extent of adoption of PP measures among different categories of farmers in both paddy and groundnut crops. The marginal and small farmers exhibited low level of adoption of plant protection measures compared to Big farmers. Attitude of farmers towards plant protection measures has emerged as the single most important factor in prediciting the variation of pp measures adoption by farmers.
