Effect of Organic Amendments on Persistence of Butachlor and Pendimethalin in Soil

N.B. Prakash, L. Suseeladevi, R. Siddaramappa

Abstract

Persistence of butachlor and pendimethalin was studied under field capacity and submerged conditions with farm Yard manure and paddy straw as organic amendments in three soils of Karnataka. The results revealed that the disappearance of butachlor was higher under field capacity conditions and that of pendimethalin under submerged conditions in all the three soils even with the addition of organic amendments. The disappearance was more rapid in soils treated with paddy straw amendments compared to FYM under both field capacity and submerged conditions.
