Knowledge Level of Frontline Demonstrators in Bangalore Rural District of Karnataka

Abstract


The study was conducted in purposively selected Bangalore Rural District of Karnataka. Data were collected through structured and pretested schedule from 100 randomly selected respondents of which 60 were frontline demonstrators and remaining 40 were non frontline demonstrators as control group. The main objective of thist study was to know the knowledge and adoption level of frontline demonstrators. Results of the study reveals that, there was a significant increase in knowledge level of frontline demonstrators when compare to the non-frontline demonstrators. Similarly great majority of the frontline demonstrators knew about variety, seed rate, spacing, seed treatment, plant protection and integrated pest management. When compared to non-frontline demonstrators. Therefore, the study calls for wide implementation of FLDs on the farmers fields.
