Abstract
A field investigation and laboratory analysis were undertaken to determine the effect of three levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on the physical and chemical quality attributes of cardamom grown under controlled shade. The physical parameters, i.e. percentage seeds in capsules, husk percentage and seed to husk ratio were influeced by the nutritional levels. However, chemical quality attributes i.e., essential oil, 1-8 cineole terpinyle accetate and oleoresin content were not influenced by the nutritional treatments.
