Extent of Possession of Knowledge of Improved Methods of Cooking by Rural Women and Associated Factors

Abstract


The study conducted in 8 villages of Dharwad taluka of Dharwad district involving 160 randomly selected rural women to know the knowledge possessed by them on improved methods of cooking and factors associated with it revealed that majority (65.63%) of the respondents had medium level of knowledge. The factor age exhibited positive and significant relationship with the knowledge on improved methods of cooking. Majority of the respondents were middle aged (54.38%), illiterate (54.38%), larger holdings (35.63%) and their family had annual income of up to Rs.11,500/-.
