Influence of Nitrogen on Root Growth Flowering and Yield of Green Chilli

R. Revanappa, U.G. Nalawadi, B.B. Madalageri

Abstract

In an experiment on green chilli, significant varietal differences were noticed regarding root parameters, flowering and yield. Highest yield (114.51 q/ha in summer and 125.70 q/ha in kharif) was seen in Nagavi with maximum root weight. Kadrolli was the lowest yielder but recorded maximum root length. FLowering was early in pusa Jwala. Highest N application (250 kg/ha) delayed 50 per cent flowering but recorded maximum yield (114.51 q/ha in summer and 125.70 in kharif) with highest root length and root weight. Interaction treatments were non significant.
