Symptomatology of Zonate Leaf Spot of Sorghum Caused by Gloeocercospora sorghi

Abstract


The symptomatology of zonate leaf spot caused by Gloeocercospora sorghi was studied. The symptoms formed on seedling, leaf, leaf sheath and on peduncle of sorghum and Johnson grass were critically observed.  The leaf area damaged at different stages of growth revealed that the increased expansion of spots were noticed from 84 days after sowing.  Unusual symptoms were also noticed on rabi sorghum and plays a vital role for its survival on host for a longer period.
