Mallikarjun Gaddanakeri, Srikant Kulkarni

Abstract

The standard tissue isolation procedure was followed to isolate the pathogen Alternaria alternata, from infected leaves of turmeric. The fungus made maximum growth on the twelfth day of incubation beyond which growth declined. Among the different liquid media, Richards's medium supported the maximum mycelial growth. The fungus attained highest growth at pH 6.5 and at temperature  25° C.
