Influence of Nitrogen on Branching, Dry Matter Production and Yield of Green Chilli

R. Revanappa, U.G. Nalawadi, B.B. Madalageri

Abstract

To know the influence of nitrogen on three genotypes of green chilli, a factorial experiment was laid out at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad during summer 1991 and Kharif 1992. Significant varietal and treatment differences were noticed. Nagavi recorded the highest number of branches of all orders, fresh weight and dry of the plant and green chilli yield. The treatment of 250 Kg N/ha was found as best to register maximum chilli yield by recording the highest dry weight and fresh weight of plant with maximum number of primary, secondary and tertiary branches per plant.
