An Appraisal of Financial Feasibility of Investment in Jasmine

Abstract


Jasmine is commercially grown for fragrant flowers, oil and for raw material in perfume industry. The longurn commitment of resources and gestation period necessitated to test investment proposal from the viewpoint of technical feasibility and economic viability. Amultistage sampling procedure was adopted for the selection of Taluks (2), Villages (6) and Respondents (120). Data (1995-96) on investment pattern, costs and returns were enumerated and standard project evaluation techniques employed to judge feasibility and viability.
