Abstract

Four rabi sorghum genotypes at three density levels were studied for their tolerance to miosture stress during post anthesis period in the late rabi season. All the growth parameters showed a decreasing trend with the increased plant density and also as crop approached maturity. The genotypes, M-35-1 and 9-13 maintained higher values for LAD and LAR during post anthesis to harvest even under high densities. As a result of increased LAD and LAR all the growth attributes viz., AGR, RGR and NAR were also higher in these genotypes which yielded higher when compared to GRS-1 and A-1. Increased population affected severely all the growth attributes due to mutual shading and competition for water and nutrition which is a result of decreased LAD and LAR.
