Abstract

The study was carried out at Agricultural Research Station, Bidar, Karnataka, during 1993 - 94 to study the performance of turmeric cultivars (Curcuma longa L) under transitional conditions of Bidar. Cultivar BDT - 4 was found tallest (77.53 cm) while Raj - 1 was having maximum number of tillers (7,7) and leaves (34.26) per plant. Among the yield attributes such as number of fingers per plant, and weight of rhizome per plant, EDT - 4 recorded the highest values which in turn helped in increasing the yield.
