M.K. Krishna Murthy, M.R. Krishnappa, E. Narayanappa, C. Manja Naik

Abstract

A study was conducted to find out the gap in the yield of sugracane at three different levels of adoption of technologies. It revealed that the yield gap between the research station and the progressive farmers was only 14.75 per cent (out of the total yield gap of 40.18 per cent) and 25.43 per cent between the progressive farmers and average farmers. The variation in the management, physical conditions and the levels of adoption of technologies are the factors responsible for such gaps. Further, certain cultivation practices of sugarcane viz. setts rate, weeding, application of phosphorus and potash were found to have significant relation with the yield obtained by the farmers.
