A field experiment conducted during rabi 1993-94 in deep black soils at Regional Research Station, Bijapur revealed that the grain yield of sorghum was significantly influenced due to application of Biofertiiizers. The highest grain yield was recorded with application of Azospirillum @ 10 kg per hectare in association with recommended N (50 kg/ha) followed by Azospirillum applied either @ 5 or 10 kg per hectare coupled with 50 per cent recommended N. While, vermicompost applied @ 2 t per hectare alone substituted the recommended N. Vermicompost @ 1 t per hectare or Azospirillum @ 5 or 10 kg per ha applied in combination with 50 per cent recommended N. Facilitated to save 50 per cent N.
