Role of Rural Women in Dairy Enterprise

Abstract


The study conducted during 2003-04 in Dharwad district of Karnataka state revealed that the participation of respondents was found to be more in regular activities, followed by health activities and marketing activities. Number of mandays consumed by regular activities was maximum, followed by health activities and regular activities. Wife alone making decisions was dominating in the activities related to caring and cleaning of the animals, while husband alone making decisions was found more in financial matters and the prevalence of joint decisions was seen more in activities like spending the income, number of animals to be reared, fixing the price of the produce etc.
