Stability Analysis in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) over Different Seasons for Yield and its Components

G. Shanthakumar, R.S. Kulkarni, R.C. Jagadeesha

Abstract

Thirty-four genotypes of rice were studied for their phenotypic stability over three seasons during dry, wet and winter 1990 at Main Research Station, Hebbal, Bangalore using Eberhart and Russell (1966) model. The results indicated the presence of genotype x environment interactions for all the characters studied. The genotypes environment interactions were attributed by both linear ands nonlinear components. None of the genotypes was stable for all the characters studied. The genotypes Jaya, HP 10 and IR 54 R were found to be suitable for dry and wet environments. KBCP 1 was found to be most ideal variety for all the environments. The genotype Mukthi and IR 54 R found to be stable over environments but performance can not be predictable.
