Anthropometric Profile of Tribals (Lambanis)

Abstract


The nutritional status of Lambani school age children, adolescents and adults was assessed by anthropometry. Results revealed that the height, weight and mid arm circumference of school age children and adolescent boys were significantly higher than that of girls. The per cent increase in weight of the school age children was highest in boys and girls of 10-11 years age group. The BMI of adults showed lesser percentage of obese persons in all the aged, in middle aged and older category. In case of males the percentage of thin persons increased with increase in age, but it was not so in females. The old aged obese were observed only in females.
