Characteristics of Culture Fisheries in Shimoga District-Discriminant Function Approach

Abstract
Linear discriminant function applied to study the characteristics of culture fisheries in Shimoga district revealed that investment on fishing equipments will increase the rate of fish catch and proper feeding is necessary when fingerlings are stocked in very large area some variables discriminate fishermen of high and low catches. This would help to design appropriate strategies to the high and low categories of fishermen to improve their efficiency and for exploiting more fish catch.
