Effect of chemicals on growth, yield and economics of mango (Mangifera indica L.)

Y.N. Tandel, N.L. Patel

Abstract

The pertaining of results opined that the number of fruits per tree and fruit yield per tree and per hectare were recorded the maximum in all mango varieties drenched with paclobutrazol 5g a.i. per tree (cultar 20 ml/tree) in mid July i.e. T1 which was statistically at par with T2 and T3. While in case of average weight of mango fruits was obtained maximum in control (T6) treatment which was at par with treatments T5 and T1. On the basis of calculated economics of all three varieties viz.,  Alphonso, Kesar and Rajapuri, the maximum net realization and CBR was obtained with treatment T1 i.e. paclobutrazol at 5g a.i. per tree (cultar 20 ml/tree) in mid of July. However, more realization and higher CBR was also obtained with other chemical treatments i.e. T2, T3, T4 and T5 as compared to control (T6).
