Abstract

In a field experiment in Karnataka, sunflowers cv. Morden was infested with 1-5 Spilosoma obliqua [Spilarctia obliqua] larvae/plant 30 or 50 days after plant emergence. Seed yield/plant decreased with increasing infestation level. The yield reduction was in the ranges 1.02-6.35 and 2.49-5.92% for plants infested on 30 and 50 days after emergence, respectively.
