The present study was conducted by interviewing twenty tailors, readymade shop owners and cloth merchants in Hubli - Dharwad Corporation area. The means, standard deviations and 't' values were calculated. Results revealed that, the difference in the mean costs of readymade and tailormade nighties and shorts were significant irrespective of the fibre contents. However, the difference in the cost of cellulosic longskirts, synthetic and blended midies were also significant.
