Knowledge Level of Rural Women About Family Planning Methods

Abstract


This study was carried out in Dharwad Taluka of Karnataka to measure the knowledge level of rural women about family planning methods. The sample size consisted of randomly selected 160 eligible couples drawn from rural population. The study revealed that a majority of the adopters and non-adopters had medium level of knowledge about family planning methods. A majority of the adopters and non-adopters were young aged, marginal land holders, low value-oriented where as, majority of adopters were literate and of a nuclear family with high annual income. Only the variable education exhibited a positive and significant relationship with the knowledge about family planning methods.
