Abstract

The results of field experiment conducted in a vertisol of Malaprabha right bank command (MRBC) of Karnataka to study the effect of organic amended rock phosphate and P solubiliser on French bean revealed that the highest total dry matter and green pod yield was observed when rock phosphate(RP) was treated with vermicompost (1 :2) and phosphorus solubilising bacteria and it was coparable with the application of single super phosphate. The inoculation of P solubilizer resulted in increase of P uptake over their uninoculated treatment. Apparent P recovery and P use efficiency was recorded the highest when farm yard manure (FYM) and vermicompost (VC) were mixed with rock phosphate in the ratio of 1: 1 or 1:2 along with phosphorus solubilising bacteria.
