Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of eucalyptus tree row management practices on the growth of sunflower and groundnut grown in the alleys under irrigation at Regional Research Station, Raichur, Karrtataka, Eucalyptus trees were planted in rows spaced 20 m in north-south direction during 1983 and management practices like tree felling and trenching were introduced during 1990. Sunflower and groundnut in sequence raised in the alleys of eucalyptus tree rows during 1990-91 showed significant reduction in yield when trees were not felled. The yields increased significantly with tree felling and opening trenches
