Abstract

Experiments on curryleaf were conducted during 1987-91 on various aspects at Division of Horticulture, UAS, Dharwad. The programme on varietal improvement resulted in selection of DWD-1 which was not only high yielding but also had better quality attributes. High density (2,200 plants/ha) bush culture planting proved to increased number of harvests (4) per year and produced high biomass (22 t/ha) than tree culture. A three year ©Id bush required 19 to 22 litres of water/day in winter and summer respectively for optimum yields. The nutrient needs increased with the age wherein 150 :25 :25 and 300: 50 :50 : g NPK/bush year were required for second and third year respectively. Spraying of GA at 100 ppm soon after clipping improved the unit weight and the total yield
