Prevalence of Parasitic Infection in Small Domestic Animals

Abstract
Faecal samples of small domestic animals received from various Veterinary institutions, farms, and private owners of Mysore and Mandya districts in Karnataka were examined to study the prevalence of various gastro-intestinal parasites. Infection by Ancylostoma and Spirocerca was common among dogs; strongylids in sheep and goats and Ascaris suum among pigs. Among haemoprotozoans, Babesia motasi and Theileria hirci in sheep were identified.
